Outport Whatnots - Christine Pike 

Christine Pike shares a love of Newfoundland and Labrador through her work in many different artistic mediums. Her work ranges from original linocut prints to cloth sculptures, hooked rugs, jewelry, and her very popular fish prints - a print made using a take on the traditional Japanese Gyotaku method.

Her work explores the cultural and natural heritage of our province. Play and experimentation is present in Christine's work, evidenced by her wide choice of materials and her interest in the surreal and the fantastic.

Christine is often immersed in the province's culture - a frequent exhibitor at the annual Stuff Your Stocking event in Glovertown, the Clareville Farm & Market and Some Good Market in Brigus.

Christine leads interactive demonstrations of her work for people of all ages at Parks Canada. She is a founding member of the Diamond House Crafty Hands group and secretary of the Diamond House Board of Directors. 

A reproduction of her linocut print of the old St Nicholas Church on Flat Island was sold as a fundraiser for Diamond House along with reproduction prints of  paintings, "Alexander Bay Station" by Roy Blackwood and "Blackwood's Sawmill" by Randy Blackwood.
